Pau Ferro, Chechen, Wenge

The idea for this piece came along after visiting the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts after a particularity "fun" snow storm.
At the museum, I came to a Rhulmann piece, from the 1920's. A beautiful side table, made of rosewood. But not solid rosewood, veneered over shaped, solid Oak.
This got me thinking, instead of using a lot of rosewood to build something, I could cut a plank into veneer and apply it over shaped Poplar. Which is how this table was constructed.
Stretching a limited(and expensive) resource!
